Do you consider your case too complicated don’t know where to start?
Pregnancy nutrition and gestational diabetes package
You are trying to conceive and want to be prepared for the journey ahead or you’ve just found out the wonderful news that you’re expecting – congratulations!
This is such an exciting time, however the amount of information available for soon-to-be mothers and parents can be overwhelming, especially when it comes to nutrition. Making sure you’re supporting your growing baby with the right foods quickly becomes many women’s primary concern.
Nutrition for pregnancy and gestational diabetes became a special interest of mine from very early on in my training as a dietitian. I went on to research gestational diabetes further for my PhD because I wanted to understand more about how we can support women thought what can be a very intense journey.
After looking at hundreds of research papers in lifestyle and nutrition during pregnancy, I have compiled relevant and practical information to support you through a healthy pregnancy. I am seriously passionate about working with women who are planning pregnancy, pregnant, or recently been pregnancy to optimise their metabolic health for the best outcomes. I am there with you through this journey.
Gestational diabetes.
I get it. Those two words carry a lot of weight and can leave you questioning everything about you and your baby’s health. In my view, one of the best ways of working though what can be a very challenging time is by learning and understanding everything that’s going on. Gestational diabetes is a transient condition that responds to diet and lifestyle circumstances. This means there is a lot in your control.
If you have been diagnosed with gestation diabetes in your current or in a previous pregnancy, let me help you understand how different foods and meals act differently on your blood sugar levels. We’ll work on a personalised plan throughout your pregnancy to help manage your blood sugar levels so that you can cherish this special time without having to stress about what to eat.
What nutrition for pregnancy is all about.
- To support rapid cell division during the first trimester
- Growth and changes in mum’s body including breasts, placenta, uterus, and increased blood volume.
- Baby’s rapid growth mid to late pregnancy.
- Throughout your pregnancy, we’ll work together to plan your nutrition to include nutrient-dense foods that support the natural changes in your body plus any specific considerations unique to your journey.
What you will learn.
There are few things in the natural world that we have complete control over, but what we do get to choose is our environment, lifestyle, and the things we put into our bodies. Lifestyle nutrition for supporting fertility and pregnancy is about eating real food. Navigating coeliac disease package
Although not a coeliac myself, I have had to learn to navigate around food intolerances and gut issues. Through having a special focus on supporting clients with digestive complaints, I found a real gap for those with coeliac disease who are often doing all the “right things” by living gluten-free but continue to encounter ongoing issues with their health. Oftentimes these background problems might be pinned down to “IBS” and hailed as something they have to just learn to live with as part of the package of being coeliac.
This package is designed for those newly diagnosed with coeliac disease and for those who may have had coeliac disease for some time but feel as if they haven’t fully regained their health as it was promised from following a strict gluten-free diet.
This package aims to support those looking for:
- Guidance on how to start living gluten-free after recently being diagnosed with coeliac disease
- Nutrition planning and meal ideas
- Troubleshooting cross-contamination
- Label reading guidance
- Personalised nutritional guidance to support ongoing digestive issues (IBS, bloating, irregular bowel habits), immune problems, and/or multiple food sensitivities
What is included in this package?
- Initial nutrition assessment and consultation (1 x 60-minute session).
- Comprehensive nutrition assessment and review of your clinical investigations.
- Guidance and resources on reading food labels and managing cross-contamination.
- Personalised nutrition plan.
- Supplementation advice.
- 1 x 30-minute follow-up consultation within 12-weeks of the initial meeting.
