CBD (Cannabidiol) is something that’s managed to creep into many conversations lately both professionally and in social circles. Earlier this year, when I attended the annual Australasian Integrative Medicine Association (AIMA) conference held at AUT University in Auckland, medical cannabis was one of the major themes. I was totally astonished listening to the history of cannabis plant medicine and its current movement in New Zealand amongst integrative and holistic medical practitioners.

Once one dives into this rabbit hole investigating the potential role of the medicinal plant you’ll be blown away by the number of anecdotes reporting its application for a myriad of conditions. CBD is the non-psychoactive component of cannabis currently available on prescription in New Zealand under special authorisation. This is one to keep on your radar.
